‘Can Cabinet’- Student Welfare Council of Canara College and ‘Avishkar’ Talent Expo 2023- Fine Arts was inaugurated at T.V. Ramana Pai Convention Centre, Mangalore on September 23, 2023. Renowned Tulu comedian, actor, versatile personality Mr. Naveen D Padil, graced the occasion as the chief guest, emphasizing the value of education and co-curricular activities for the current generation students. He encouraged students to explore their talents, highlighting that how it can bring lasting satisfaction. He also insisted the students to realize the hardships of their parents, respect elders and choose good friends. Further, Multilingual actor and member of the governing body, C.H.S Association Mr. Gopalakrishna Bhat Kumble inaugurated the program. He emphasized that today’s youth are educated and intelligent; hence it is the responsibility of the teachers, parents and educational institutions to use this youth power to lead to the development of the country. Sri CA M. Jagannath Kamath, Correspondent of Canara College, presided over the event, emphasizing the significance of discipline in character development and success. Dr. Premalatha V., Principal, congratulated the organizers. The event was dignified by Sri K. Shivananda Shenoy, Manager, Canara College, Dr. Deepti Nayak, Administrator, Student Welfare Mentors Mrs. Babitha S., Mrs. Smitha M. and Mr. Avinash, as well as by Fine Arts Coordinator Mrs. Vani U.S. Can- Cabinet Student Welfare office bearers Mr.Harshith-President, Ms. Tejashree Shetty-Vice President, Mr. Brugu-Secretary, Ms.Sambhrama R. and Ms. Vamshi Salian- Joint Secretaries and Ms. Shravya Bhaktha- Secretary, Ms. Shravya- Joint Secretary of Fine Arts Association were also present. The oath-taking for the Can-Cabinet office bearers was administered by Mrs. Smitha M., Student Welfare Mentor. Additionally, actor Sri Naveen D Padil and Sri.
Goplakrishna Bhat K. were honored during the event. Mrs. Babitha S. extended a warm welcome to the gathering and Mrs.Vani U.S. introduced Mr. Ujwal U. V, a newly appointed, coordinator of Canara Cultural Academy & also proposed the vote of thanks. The event was hosted by Ms. Akshata Karanth. The formal function was followed by cultural event exploring the talent and creativity of students. A total of 125 students participated in the event and attended by 595 students.
