The Centre for PG Studies in Commerce organised an orientation and bridge course for the incoming first-year M.Com students on October 12, 2023 at the college seminar hall.
On this occasion, Shri Samarth Shenoy Basthikar, Professor of the MBA Department at Sahyadri College, Mangalore, graced the event as the Chief Guest. He inaugurated the program by lighting a lamp and delivered an inspiring speech to the students, emphasizing the importance of hard work in achieving their goals. He also encouraged them to believe in themselves, seek guidance from the right people, and establish meaningful connections with like-minded individuals for their personal and professional growth. Additionally, he provided a valuable illustration on the practical application of theoretical knowledge in the real world, offering a well-explained example as an insightful perspective on the bridge course.
Shri CA M. Jagannath Kamath, Correspondent of Canara College, graced the gathering with his valuable insights and rich experience. He urged the students to embrace focus and goal-oriented approaches in their lives, emphasizing the importance of not squandering their precious time.
Dr. Premalatha V, the Principal, encouraged the students to proactively engage in research endeavors, highlighting the significance of investing time in this field.
Mrs. Swathi Nayak, P.G. Coordinator, provided a concise overview of the various department-specific activities and responsibilities, culminating in a pledge taken by the students to uphold the College’s rules and regulations.
The second-year M.Com students shared invaluable insights into the course and department activities. A total of 63 students actively participated in this program.
Mrs Megha, faculty member, welcomed the gathering. Ms Sneha Pai proposed the vote of thanks and the Akshaya Pai, Student, 2nd Year M.Com compered the programme.
