Jnanapeeth awardee Dr. Kota Shivarama Karantha was a writer, thinker and well-known yakshagana artist. He introduced the heritage of Kannada and Tulu language of the Dakshina kannada region to the world. To commemorate his invaluable contributions to the land and language, the Kannada Department of our college, on the 122nd birth anniversary of Dr. Shivarama Karantha, conducted an activity on October 19,2023. The Students wrote essays on the life and writings of the eminent writer. Ms.Megha introduced the life and writings of Dr. Karantha. Ms.Shrinidhi and Mr Akshay jointly presented the essays on his novels. Ms.Shrinidhi, Ms.Rishika, Ms. Greeshma and Ms.Khushi sung the prayer.
Ms.Ananya J Shetty welcomed the gathering, Mr. Jeevan rendered vote of thanks. The program was hosted by Miss Likhitha. 28 students from I BSC actively participated in this activity. Mrs.Vani U.S Head of the Kannada department and Mrs.Shailaja P, Lecturer encouraged students to participate actively.
