Terahertz 2023: A Science and IT Fest was jointly organized by the Science & IT Associations of our college on October 31, 2023, at 9:15 a.m. with the theme “Smart Mind Unites.”
The Chief Guest, Mr. Sathyendra Bhat J., Head of Training and Placement at St. Josephs Engineering College, Vamanjoor, and alumnus (Batch 2003-2006), inaugurated Terahertz 2023. In his address, he said that students should develop logical and rational skills along with their academics. They should be aware of current affairs and develop good communication skills. Dr. Premalatha V., Principal, said in her presidential address that losing is not final; it represents the opportunity to try again with more knowledge than you had last time.
Dr.Asha Kiran Pakkala, Science Convener, introduced Terahertz and the events at the fest. Terahertz 2023 had 10 events, namely, Master Mind (Best IT Manager Event), Code Jam (Coding Event), Communication Skills Event, Paper Prism (PPT Event), Web War (Web Designing), Battle Stars (Gaming Event), Elect-Tricks (Physics Event), Numera (Maths Event), Chemenese (Chemistry Event), and Metabloom (Zoology and Botany Event).
Altogether, 138 students took part in these events. The events had several rounds, and these events were conducted smoothly in the labs and classrooms after the inauguration of the program.
The fest concluded with the valedictory program, where prizes for various events were distributed by the chief guest, Mrs. Jayabharathi K.P., Head of Computer Science and Applications, and Mrs. Sandhya, Program Head of Science, Head of Chemistry Department. The IT and Science student convenors, Mr. Karthik C. Maleskar III BSc., Ms. Swathi II BCA A, Mr.Venkatesh III BSc. and Ms. Deepika II BSc. managed all the events. Staff conveners, Dr. Asha Kiran Pakkala, Mrs. Adithi Nayak, Mrs. Poornima and Mrs.Vinutha coordinated the programme.
