The National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, observes the Communal Harmony Campaign Week annually from November 19th to 25th.
The foundation collaborates with the central and state governments, district administrations, and reputed institutions to conduct a variety of programs, including seminars, symposiums, cultural events, interfaith dialogues, literary competitions, and other significant initiatives to fulfill its mandate.
On November 24th, as part of the Pledge Day initiative, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell organized ‘QUAMI EKTA DIWAS’ (National Integration Day). The pledge was administered to staff and students by the IQAC Coordinator, Mrs. Anusuya Bhaghavath. Stamps were distributed to the students, and a stamp collection amount of Rs. 5000 was donated to the National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH)
In addition, the Human Rights Cell organized an awareness program on ‘National Integration and Communal Harmony’ on November 25, 2023 in Lecture Hall 16. Professor Pushparaj, Assistant Professor at S.D.M. Law College, highlighted the importance of students fostering feelings of brotherhood regardless of their social backgrounds such as caste, creed, or religion. He emphasized that preserving unity in diversity in a plural society like India is everyone’s duty, contributing to national integration and communal harmony. Eighty students participated in the awareness program.
