The Department of Chemistry organized an Outreach Program aimed at engaging high school students in the wonders of chemistry through interactive demonstrations and activities for final BSc students from February 5-7, 2024, in 5 different groups. The program focused on fostering interest, enhancing understanding, and promoting participation in science-based activities. Twenty final BSc students were tasked with forming teams of five and visiting five different high schools in and around Mangalore. They demonstrated interesting chemistry experiments for high school students who lacked laboratory facilities. The program successfully fostered an inclusive environment where students from diverse backgrounds felt valued and empowered to pursue interests in science. The impact of the outreach program was assessed through feedback collected from staff and students of the respective schools. After the outreach program, students submitted the report along with feedback forms. This activity achieved its objectives of inspiring high school students through hands-on demonstrations and interactive activities.
