The Centre for Postgraduate Studies in Commerce organized a session on Union Budget Analysis 2024 on February 12, 2024, in the college seminar hall at 2.00 pm.
CA Abhiram K. S. was the resource person for the session. In the first half of the session, detailed information was given to the students relating to the difference between the interim budget and the full budget, along with the “Vikshith Bharath Mission” to be achieved by 2047. The four areas of focus of the interim budget were elaborated, namely Garib Kalyan DeshkaKalyan, Empowering the Youth, Annadatha, and Nari Shakti. The second half of the session was related to sources and the allocation of funds for the budget for the financial year. Tax proposals for the current financial year and the major achievements of the previous budget, like increased GST collections, rising volume in digital transactions, increased infrastructural facilities, and decreased GNPA, were also explained.
A budget analysis competition was conducted for the students, and the winners were honoured at the end of this session. 58 students actively participated in the session. The PG Coordinator, Mrs. Swathi Nayak, and the PG faculties were present on the occasion. Ms. Akshaya Pai B.P. compered the programme.
