Yuvavani group programme “Investment Avenues” by II MCom students

February 12, 2024

The team of the Centre for PG Studies in Commerce had the privilege of creating an awareness program on investment avenues that was recorded and broadcasted by All India Radio. Involving students in hosting such a radio program can foster a sense of responsibility and leadership among them.
The students delivered clear explanations of key investment concepts, making them accessible for listeners with varying levels of financial literacy. Topics covered included investment in bank FDs, mutual funds, PPF, national saving certificates, real estate, etc.
The student presenters emphasized the importance of responsible investing practices. They discussed the need for research, understanding risk tolerance, and avoiding scams. However, they were careful to remind listeners that this was for educational purposes only and that consulting a financial advisor is crucial before making any investment decisions.
This initiative demonstrates the power of student involvement in financial literacy education. Twenty students from II M.Com participated in the program. The programme initiated by Mrs. Swathi Nayak, PG Coordinator. It was broadcast on February 17, 2024, at 5 p.m.
