The workshop on Research and Publications, and Career in Life Sciences was aimed at providing insights into the current trends in life sciences’ research, the process of publishing scientific work, and the various career opportunities available in the field. The target audience included students interested in advancing their careers in the life sciences.
The Department of Botany and Zoology conducted a workshop on Research and Publications, and Careers in life Sciences on May 9, 2024. The Resource person, Mr. Kiran Vati K, Assistant Professor in Zoology, Aloysius College Deemed to be University, Mangalore, emphasized the significance of staying updated with the latest research trends and understanding the publication process to enhance career prospects in life sciences. He also discussed various career paths in the life sciences, ranging from academic positions to roles in industry and government. He emphasized the importance of developing a strong research portfolio, networking, and continuously updating skills to stay competitive.Altogether, 43 students and six faculties participated in the workshop.
This workshop served to achieve the core values of contribution to national development, fostering global competency, inculcating a value system, and quest for excellence amongst the students.
