Seminar on “Emerging Trends in Finance and Opportunities

With a view to equip students with the latest knowledge and understanding of the evolving financial landscape, and to explore the various career opportunities available in the fields of commerce and management, an insightful Seminar on “Emerging Trends in Finance and Opportunities for Commerce and Management Students” was organized by the Department of Commerce and Management on saturday May 18, 2024 at 9:30 A.M. in the Lecture Hall 01. Mr. Vinod Chandran, C.E.O., MyLogic Business School, Bengaluru, and Mr. Sriram Subramanian, C.O.O., MyLogic Business School, Bengaluru, were the Resource Speakers of the seminar.

Mrs. Dejamma A., Head, Dept. of Commerce and Management presided over the programme. In her address she said – “The horizon of finance is witnessing paradigm shift, driven by technological advancements, regulatory shifts, and evolving market dynamics. From the rise of fintech and blockchain technology to the growing importance of sustainable finance and global market trends, therefore, it becomes vital for us to stay abreast of the recent trends and developments in the field, and also understand their emerging opportunities that it has in store for the future commerce and management professionals.”

Mr. Vinod Chandran, C.E.O., MyLogic Business School, Bengaluru in his session emphasized the students on the growing need for up-skilling and up-gradation so as to remain relevant in terms of desired knowledge, skills and competencies. Furthermore, the amount spent on education is an investment and it should not to be considered as cost. He also highlighted on diverse career paths available to the commerce and management students across various professional programmes including that of Indian and International certifications. For the better understanding of the students, he also gave an overview to the various professional courses, expected investment in terms of its course fee, its duration, examination, passing rates, etc.

On a concluding note, he called upon the students to have the combination of well-defined goals, unwavering focus, passionate determination, intense fire with a can-do attitude, and then nothing can stop from achieving your dreams. Mr. Sriram Subramanian, C.O.O., MyLogic Business School, Bengaluru, in his address emphasized on the need for continuous learning, staying updated with industry trends and acquiring relevant skills.

Mr. Hardik P. Chauhan, Faculty of the Department and Seminar Convener delivered the welcome address and also introduced the Resource Speakers to the gathering. Mr. Tushar, a Student of III B.Com. B compered the programme and also proposed the vote of thanks. A total of 72 students attended this seminar.
