World Environment Day Celebrations 2024

June 5, 2024

The Rovers and Rangers’ Association commemorated World Environment Day with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff on June 5, 2024. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation and sustainability through various activities and initiatives.

As part of the celebrations, students were encouraged to participate by sharing geotagged photographs related to environmental themes. This initiative aimed to showcase personal engagement with environmental issues and encourage a sense of collective responsibility among the college community. 15 Members of the Rovers and Rangers (RR) group were requested to wear either their college uniform or RR uniform during the celebrations. This uniformity not only promoted a sense of identity and unity but also highlighted the group’s active involvement in environmental initiatives.

A significant highlight of the event was a sapling plantation drive. Participants were encouraged to plant saplings in their home gardens and share geotagged photographs and videos of the planting process in the designated group. Participation in the World Environment Day celebrations was compulsory for RR students. This requirement underscored the importance of active engagement in environmental activities and reflected the college’s commitment to nurturing environmental conservation.
