The Department of M.Com has setup the stall under the IQAC initiative, which is aligned with the Apex Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) and the National Education Policy(NEP) 2020, in commemoration of World Environment Day on June 11,2024, near the college entrance to sell eco-friendly products like clay pots of various sizes and designs suitable for gardening and home décor, and cloth dusters, which are made from natural fibers and are reusable and biodegradable, unlike synthetic alternatives.
The eco-friendly products, such as clay pots and cloth dusters, were prepared under the simulated company of the M.Com Department, ‘CANARIZE’, to inform the academic community about the environmental benefits of using eco-friendly products and to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices within our academic community and beyond.
The stall was inaugurated by Dr. KalpanaPrabhu J, Assistant Professor, Head of the Department, Hindi. Who has congratulated the simulated business ‘CANARIZE’ for itscommitment towards fostering environmental stewardship and community engagement.Dr. Premalatha V., Principal supported the initiative and encouraged the students for their creativity. 10 students from M.Com actively participated in the making and selling of these eco-friendly products at the stall. Mrs.Anasuya Bhagvath, IQAC coordinator; Mrs.Swathi Nayak, PG coordinator; and other faculty members of the department have coordinated for the smooth conduct of the same.
