The Department of Computer Science and Applications organized a Departmental Orientation program for the first-year BCA students on August 14, 2024, at 1:30 P.M. in the seminar hall. The program consisted of two sessions.
The meeting began with a heartfelt prayer led by Sri Shubham, a faculty member of the department. Following this, Ms. Varshini T., Lecturer , Department of Computer Science and Applications warmly welcomed the newly joined students of the 24th batch, embracing them as part of the BCA family.
The first session was hosted by Mrs. Prathima V Baliga, Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science and Applications, while the second session was led by Mrs. Adithi Nayak, Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science and Applications. In the second session, Mrs. Meghashree Lecturer, Department of Computer Science and Applications extended a warm welcome to the students.
Mrs. Jayabharathi, Head of the MCA department, expressed gratitude and went on to elaborate on the objectives and outcomes of the program.
Mrs. Babitha S., Head of the department discussed the syllabus pattern, both college and departmental rules, the role of mentors, teaching-learning methodologies, as well as the extra-curricular and co-curricular programs offered in the college and highlighted the library and laboratory facilities.
She also provided information regarding the admission process, fee payments, and examination enrollment in the UUCMS portal, and introduced the SEP system.
The guidelines for the term examination and university examination were provided by Mrs. Rajyalaxmi, Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science and Applications. Mrs. Shailaja Kumary T.G, Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science and Applications provided the attendance details.
Mrs. Keerthana Bhat, the Convenor of the NSS Unit, provided an orientation on the objectives and benefits of student participation in NSS.
Mrs. Roopashree, the Convenor of YRC, provided an orientation on the objectives and benefits of the YRC.
Dr. Kalpana J. Prabhu, C, Mrs. Vani U, the Head of the Department of Kannada and Mrs. Rithika Das, the Head of the Department of English graced the occasion with their presence.
Mrs. Vinutha and Mrs. Rakshitha, Lecturers in the Department of Computer Science and Applications, simultaneously proposed the vote of thanks for both sessions.
During the occasion, lab programmers Mrs. Amitha, Ms. Meghana, Mr. Akshay, Ms. Chaithra, Ms. Thanushree and office assistant Mr. Sudesh Kumar were in attendance. In total, 169 First Year BCA students participated in the program and were subsequently added to the official WhatsApp group through a QR code.
