Konkani Bhasha Vidyarthi Mandal of our College organized Konkani Manyatha Diwas on August 21, 2024 at 3:30 P.M. Dr. Jayavantha Nayak, Professor and Head of the Department of Economics, University College and Coordinator of Konkani Adhyayana Peeta, Mangalore University, was the Resource Person for the programme. He enlightened the audience and stated that we must respect our parents as well as our mother tongue Konkani. He mentioned that five famous personalities from the Konkani Community have contributed in the framing of our Indian Constitution. He also remembered the founding father of Canara Institutions, Sri Ammembal Subba Rao Pai, whose selfless and dedicated efforts have not only been providing quality education at affordable cost but have also produced enlightened citizens with a strong academic foundation and a lively cultural heritage.
Dr. Premalatha V., President of the program, in her presidential remarks, emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting our mother tongue Konkani within our linguistic community. Mr. Varadraja Bhaktha of III B.Com B introduced and welcomed the Resource Person. Ms. K. Ashwini Shenoy of II B.Com A proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. J. Sapthami Bhat was the Master of Ceremony. Ms. K. Vaibhavi Shenoy and team rendered a devotional song and Ms. Prarthana V. Bhat of II B.Com A composed and recited a poem. Around 60 students actively participated in the program.The Convener of Konkani Bhasha Vidyarthi Mandal, Mrs. Sujatha G. Nayak, Dr. Kalpana Prabhu J., H.O.D of Hindi, Mrs. Usha Nayak and Mrs. Vinoda V. Nayak, Faculties of Commerce Department attended the program.• This program strived to contribute to national development and strived to inculcate the value system among students.
