“Position Yourself for Success : Smart Strategies for Placement Preparedness”

With a view to equip students with essential strategies for effective job placement and enhance their employability, the Training Internships and Placement Cell of the institute organized an energizing session on “Position Yourself for Success : Smart Strategies for Placement Preparedness”, on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 11:30 AM, at Smt. Ratna S. Shenoy Memorial Seminar Hall, Canara College, Mangaluru. Mr. Abhilash Kshatriya, ICF CCE Certified Trainer & Coach, C.E.O., Wizdom Network Institutions, Mangaluru, was the key speaker.

In her message, Dr. Premalatha V., the Principal of the institute, said – “As you embark on your career journeys in the days to come, it is essential to recognize that preparation is key to success. The rapidly evolving job market demands not only skills and knowledge but also the ability to present yourself effectively to potential employers. This session will therefore equip you with the tools and strategies necessary to navigate this competitive landscape. Moreover, your journey toward success is not just about securing a job; it’s about positioning yourself as a confident and capable candidate. Hence, embrace the knowledge and skills you gain today, and let them empower you as you pursue your career aspirations.”

The Key Speaker Mr. Abhilash Kshatriya in his session remarked that preparing for the job market is about more than just technical skills. It involves understanding yourself, your unique strengths, and how to effectively communicate them to potential employers. The job search can be challenging, but with the right strategies and mindset, you can position yourself for success. Furthermore, it is not just about finding a job; it’s about building a fulfilling career.

He discussed the latest trends in the job market, expectations of the job market and expected preparedness on the part of the job seekers. Besides he also shared some practical tips on resume building, tailoring resumes to specific job descriptions, highlighting skills and achievements using quantifiable metrics, interview techniques, and personal branding elements that can make a significant difference how the potential candidates present themselves to prospective employers. Probable interview questions and how they could be answered logically were also discussed.

The session included meaningful interactions where students actively participated by seeking clarification for their queries; thus, making the learning process engaging and effective.

The TIP Coordinator Mr. Hardik P. Chauhan introduced the Key Speaker to the gathering. The TIP Cell Conveners Mrs. Meghashree proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Shwetha Pai M. compered the programme.
