A Workshop on the topic ‘A Journey from Campus to Corporate’ organised by Training Internships & Placement Cell & Lions Club Mangalore, Ashoknagar was held on October 25, 2024 in the college Seminar Hall from 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM
The session began by invoking the blessings from almighty. The President of Lions Club Mangalore, Ashoknagar, Ln. Prashanth Shetty, addressed the gathering. The TIP Cell Co-ordinator Mrs. Shwetha Pai M, Lecturer, Centre for PG Studies in Commerce welcomed the gathering. The Highlights of the workshop was briefly explained by Prof. Ronald Pinto, Director, and Institute for Individual Developments, Mangalore
The first session was commenced by the Resource Person Ms. Anusha Prashanth Shetty Assistant Professor, Department of MCA, NMAMIT, Nitte (Deemed to be University) by focusing on how leveraging technology can streamline job preparation, application processes, and increase placement success rates, by her insightful session on ‘Impact of Computer Applications in Campus Placement for M.Com. students. The session aimed to highlight the role of computer applications in enhancing students’ employability during campus placements.
The second session by Prof. Ronald, focused on self-improvement, effective communication, and the creation of compelling resumes to succeed in today’s competitive job market.
Practical tips were provided on maintaining good personal hygiene, dressing appropriately for different occasions, and the impact of a positive self-image on confidence and interactions. The session seamlessly transitioned into the resume building segment, where students were educated on the components of a strong resume and provided insights into crafting a compelling professional summary, showcasing relevant skills, and tailoring the resume for specific job applications.
The workshop was successful in equipping students with the skills and mindset needed for a smooth transition from campus life to corporate careers. Feedback indicated that participants valued the practical advice and real-life examples shared by the facilitators.
Ms. Apeksha, M.Com final proposed the vote of thanks and the master of ceremony of the programme was done by Ms. Bhargavi, student, M.Com final. Altogether 39 students were present for the Workshop. This workshop aimed to attain the core values such as global competency & quest for excellence.
