Commerce and Management Association organized an “Inter-Collegiate PU Level Commerce and Management Fest – COMMFIESTA 2024”on October 30, 2024. The inauguration of the program began with the rendition of prayer by Mr. Agama (I B.C.A) followed by a welcome to the Chief Guest of the programme by Mr. Gopalakrishna Pai. Ms. Bhoomika Prabhu, Student Convener gave an insight into the fest to the august gathering. Later, the customary lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries marked the formal commencement of the programme.
The Chief Guest and the inaugurator of ‘COMMFIESTA 2024, CA Shravan Kumar B. Founder, CA Shravan Kumar B and Co Chartered Accountants (SKBCO), Mangaluru, in his address reminiscing his college days said, “PU is a very significant milestone for any individual. In the fast paced, ever changing world, the success and survival of a company often depend on its ability to make timely decisions”. He also added how the importance of taking right decisions that pave the ways for sustained growth and long term impact by mentioning the stories of Yahooo and Google. He also enlightened the youngsters on the various career opportunities in Commerce.
Dr. Premalatha V., in her presidential address, urged the participants to believe in themselves.The valedictory of the same began at 4.30pm in the college seminar hall. Mrs. Dejamma A., HOD, Commerce, stated that focusing on participation rather than winning allows us to celebrate each effort we make, learn from mistakes and continue growing. She also complimented the efforts of the organizers in organizing the event Dr. Premalatha V., Principal, in her presidential remarks stated “Participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities adds true flavors to life. It equips students with set of skills essential in this competitive world.”
87 students from 13 different PU colleges participated in COMMFIESTA 2024 and 44 students from Commerce and Management Association took active participation and organized COMMFIESTA. Staff Convenors Mrs. Ashalatha and Mrs. Jayashree Shetty coordinated the entire programme. St. Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru and MAAPS PU College, Mangaluru, bagged the Overall Championship and Runners-up trophy respectively. The program was beneficial for the students and it served to achieve the core values of fostering global competency.
