On October 30, 2024, the Department of Commerce organized an outreach program in collaboration with All India Radio (AIR) Mangaluru as part of “Vigilance Awareness Week” observances. The program aimed to raise awareness on vigilance, transparency, and accountability in public and commercial sectors, aligning with this year’s theme of promoting integrity in public life.
The Department of Commerce conducted a recording session at AIR Mangaluru, where experts from the department discussed critical issues surrounding vigilance and its role in commerce and public life. The discussion covered several key areas:
• Vigilance in Commerce and Industry: Highlighted the importance of vigilance in ensuring ethical practices within the commercial sector.
• Preventing Corruption: Addressed the need for preventive measures against corruption, including transparency in processes.
• Role of Citizens in Promoting Transparency: Stressed the role of citizens in maintaining vigilance by actively supporting and promoting transparency in various sectors.
The recorded session was broadcast on AIR Mangaluru on November 04, 2024 at 5pm, targeting a wide listener base to spread the message of vigilance awareness. This outreach program was coordinated by Mrs Anasuya Bhagvath and Mrs Lavina S Noronha, Faculty, Department of Commerce. A total of 10 students participated in this outreach program.• The session strived to achieve the core values of contribution to national development and inculcating value system amongst all.
