The Rovers and Rangers Unit of the college organized a Solo Singing Competition on Prayer and Flag Songs for its members on 6th November 2024. The primary objective of this competition was to develop students’ singing skills and also to create awareness about the significance of the prayer and flag songs within the Rovers and Rangers community.
The competition was designed to encourage students to learn and sing these songs in a rhythmic and meaningful way, which is essential for activities within the Rovers and Rangers Unit. Through this experience, participants not only honed their singing skills but also gained insights into the historical origins and significance of these songs. This understanding fosters a deeper connection to the values and traditions of the Rovers and Rangers movement. 20 students actively took part in the competition. The competition was judged by Mrs. Keerthi, HOD of Mathematics, Mrs. Poornima Assistant Professor in Mathematics, and Mr. Hardik Chauhan, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce.
Each participant had the opportunity to sing either the prayer song or the flag song, showcasing their talent and understanding of these meaningful pieces. This event served as a platform for members to enhance their confidence motivating them to participate actively and enthusiastically in future activities conducted by the unit throughout the year. First Prize was bagged by Naman Pai of III BCom C. Second Prize was bagged by Sanvika of I BCom B.
