The Department of Business Administration organized a workshop on SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds), an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aimed at providing accessible online education on December 03, 2024.
The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Smitha M., Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce and Management, Canara College, Mangaluru, an expert in digital education and e-learning platforms. The session began with an introduction of the resource person. Mrs. Smitha, shared her insights into the objectives and features of the SWAYAM platform, emphasizing its role in bridging the digital divide and providing quality education to learners across the country.
Key aspects included an overview of SWAYAM’s features, the registration and enrollment process, and the benefits of self-paced learning and certification. Participants gained insights into how SWAYAM supports the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and complements traditional classroom learning.
The session was interactive, with 38 participants engaging actively through Q&A discussions. Mrs. Smitha addressed queries regarding certification, credit transfer, and the applicability of SWAYAM courses in career development. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the resource person and students for their enthusiastic participation. Feedback from the participants indicated a positive response, with majority expressing their intent to explore SWAYAM further for academic and professional growth. This workshop successfully enhanced awareness of digital education platforms, inspiring students to embrace innovative learning methods.
