The IT Association, as part of an outreach initiative, conducted an Extension Activity on “Cybersecurity and Crimes Awareness” on January 18, 2025, at BEM High School, Mangalore. IT Association students visited the school to educate students about cyber threats and online safety.The session commenced with Vanisha delivering the welcome address, setting the tone for the event and emphasizing the importance of cybersecurity awareness.
The session began with an interactive discussion on cybersecurity, its advantages and disadvantages, and the rising cybercrimes in today’s world by Akash and Ananya. The team highlighted how easily individuals become victims of cyber threats and provided valuable insights on how to stay safe in the digital space.
To reinforce learning, Prasham,Disha and Shravya conducted an interactive quiz and puzzle engaging studentsand encouraging active participation. Students eagerly took part, showcasing their understanding of cybersecurity concepts. Winners were rewarded with chocolates as prizes for their correct answers.
At the end of the session students shared their feedback, reflected on how they would use the knowledge gained to protect themselves and others from cyber threats in the future.This activity was designed to be informative, engaging, and interactive, ensuring that students not only learned about cybersecurity but also felt empowered to apply it in real-life situations.
The Headmaster, Mr. Yashavantha Mada, appreciated the team’s efforts in raising awareness and providing valuable knowledge to the students on such an important topic. The session concluded with Shreenidhi delivering the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the school administration, faculty, and students for their enthusiastic participation.Total 6 students were actively participated in this program.
