An Educational initiative was organized by IT Association conducted an Extension Activity on “Social Media Awareness” session on February 7, 2025, at Canara High School, Mangalore at 10.30 a.m. by IT Association students.
The session commenced with Lahari delivering the welcome address, setting the tone for the event and emphasizing the importance of social media awareness.
The session on various aspects of responsible social media usage, including privacy settings, identifying fake news, and understanding the consequences of cyberbullying was conducted by Bhavana and Pranamya. The team provided real-life examples and case studies to make the discussion relatable.
To ensure engagement, Adithya, Pawan and Sharavan conducted interactive games and quizzes, allowing students to test their knowledge and actively participate in discussions on digital citizenship and online safety.
At the end of the session, the school administration and faculty appreciated the team’s efforts in simplifying complex digital safety concepts and helping students navigate social media responsibly. The session concluded with Bhavana delivering the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the school administration, faculty, and students for their enthusiastic participation. Total 6 students were actively participated in this program.
