Kannada Department organized a seminar on Kannada Cinema Sahitya and Hasya Chintane in association with Kannada Sangha on 15/07/2015, at College Seminar Hall. Shri Thonse Pushkala Kumar an eminent Musician was the resource person. He sang and analysed old Kannada film songs, which arepart of Mangalore University under graduate Kannada Text Book. In regard to life values, the selection of popular Kannada film songs as text has given a new dimension to academic studies as it can be taken seriously in learning different situations of life. He through his lecture and recital oh old film songs attempted to instil in our students self-confidence, elf respect particularly in the face of difficulties.68 students benefited through this programme.the values of life were highlighted through the recital of old Kannada film songs.
Dr. K.V. Malini, Principal presided over the function .Mrs. Vani U. S,HOD of Kannada, Mrs. Thara Kumari staff convener of Kannada Sangha were present .Ganpathi Bhat of III B.Com Welcomed and introduced the resource person. Deeksha K.J of II B.Sc proposed the vote of thanks. 68 students participated in this programme.
