One day educational field visit to Dr. Joishi Sir’s Herbal Garden at Bejai, Mangaluru for 36 students of III BZC to collect Plant Specimen for Herbarium preparation to submit during University Practical Examination March 2018, was conducted by Department of Botany on March 19, 2018. Professor and Head of the Department Dr.M.S.Joishi Kumble, Madhushree, Assistant Professor guided the students in Specimen collection. Lab Assistant Mr. Prashanth helped the students in collecting the specimen and samples. 36 students participated. Students has documented and submitted the report during practical examination. Dr. Joishi gave a brief explanation of medicinal properties of certain medicinally important plants in the garden and also explained certain taxonomical characters of plant families mention in the syllabus with plant examples. Overall it was a very informative and useful to students.
