In connection with world water day a programme on water harvesting and water management was organised on March 23, 2018 in association with Red Cross unit of the college. The resource person Prof.JagadeeshBala, Associate Professor of Commerce, Govt. First Grade College for Women, Balmatta createda awakening atmosphere through his presentation about conserving groundwater level and proper utilization of rainwater for storage. He stressed that rain water harvesting is the simplest method and, if people become active and alert over the issue the situation of water scarcity can be dealt promptly. He also brought to notice various methods of conserving rain water in terms of digging small ponds or installing roof-top rainwater harvesting system at both small and big buildings& the harvested rain water can be stored in sub-surface groundwater reservoir to meet the household needs through storage in tanks.tion of the young minds towards the water crisis. In his address he said there is no invention till date to manufacture water in the industries and there is no substitute to water. So it’s a responsibility of every citizen to save water sources and protect them from pollution.
