Beach Cleaning

February 15, 2020

Beaches are an important part of our lives, in terms of the recreational qualities. Beaches provide many recreational opportunities for millions of people. So, it is better to keep ourselves safe from pollution at the beach.  So,we decided to conduct this program in association with Zoology department on February 15, 2020 at 3.00 P.M at Panambur Beach. We had taken basic working material such as hand gloves and plastic bags. Some of these pollutants are carried in suspension by the ocean or rivers from distant places or dumped on the beach by visitors. We found the beach with garbage like plastic bottles, food packages, paper, sticks etc.  overuse of the beach can lead to gradual degradation of habitat. We took pleasure in what we were set out to do and what we were doing. The garbage we collected from a relatively small portion of the beach. Therefore, we can imagine the amount of thrash that can be removed from wider area of beach. 36 students participated in Beach Cleaning.
