Ranganathan’s Day/ Librarians’ Day Celebration

In commemoration of the birth anniversary of the Father of Library Science, Padmashree S.R. Ranganathan, Librarians’ Day was celebrated at Ratnabai Memorial Hall in Canara College Mangaluru.
On this esteemed occasion, a workshop was conducted on the “Art of Writing Manuscripts in a Scopus Indexed Journal with respect to the domain of Social Science”. Dr. Ankitha Shetty, Assistant Professor, Research Coordinator, Department of Commerce, MAHE, Manipal, was the resource person for the event. In her address, Dr. Ankitha emphasized on why Academic Publications in Scopus Indexed Journals are a crucial piece of the proverbial puzzle of research across the globe.
Dr. Premlatha V., Principal of the College, added further and shared key insights into the Principles of Categorisation and also informed about the availability of E-Resources in the College Library.
Mrs. Kavitha Ganesh, Librarian of the College, elaborated on the significance of remembering and recollecting the Laws of Library Science as first devised by Dr. S. R. Ranganathan.
Dr. Kalpana Prabhu J, Head, Department of Hindi and  Member of the Library Advisory Committee welcomed the gathering. Smt. Shruthi G, Assistant Librarian delivered the vote of thanks.
Smt. Rashmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, was the Master of Ceremony for the event.All the faculty members from our college participated in this programme.
