The workshop on “Creativity in learning Mathematics “was organized by the Department of Mathematics on January 19, 2022 in Room no: 01 for final year students. The goal of the workshop was to teach the students how to improve creative thinking and to provide an analysis on their perception of creativity in problem solving using different techniques. The Resource person of the workshop Dr. Adelaide R. M. Saldanha, HOD and Associate professor of St.Agnes, college enlightened the students by giving insights on factors of divergent thinking, types of thinking, supporting creativity, factors affecting creativity and the ways to improve creativity. Also, the resource person taught the students to make Mathematics related models and shapes using paper cuttings and colored A4 sheets. 60 students of final years actively participated in the program.
Mrs. Keerthi Alva, Head of the department,Mathematics welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Poornima, member of faculty proposed the vote of thanks. Our Principal Dr. Premalatha V. was present throughout the program. She congratulated all the students who actively participated in the program and encouraged to attend many more workshops. This program is an opportunity to participate and learn new things related to Mathematics. Students enjoyed the session and received good feedback.
