The workshop on “Mushroom Cultivation Technology” was organised by the Department of Botany, Canara college, Mangalore on January 17,2022 from 2 pm to 5 pm. The workshop was attended by 44 students. Mr Shivakumar, Entrepreneur, Kaladka was the resource person of the workshop. Dr. Premalatha V, principal, was the president of the program. Ms. Tejaswini of III BZC delivered the welcome address and also explained the objective of the Workshop.
Mr. Shivakumar, the resource person began his session by explaining the steps involved in the Cultivation of Button mushrooms. In his presentation, he explained the types of mushrooms and the techniques to identify edible mushrooms. He also conducted practical session for the students and demonstrated the preparation of mushroom bed and inculcation of Spawn. All the participants actively participated in the workshop. Finally, there was a Q&A session wherein participants put forward their queries and each of their queries was extensively deliberated upon.
In the concluding note Dr. Premalatha V, Principal, Canara College delivered the presidential remarks. Feedback form was provided to all the participants. The webinar concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Saanchya, student co-ordinator, III BZC and Master of ceremony for this workshop was Ms. Jhanavi, III BZC.
