International women’s day was celebrated by women empowerment cell of Canara College Mangalore on March 8, 2022 at the Seminar Hall. International Women’s Day (IWD) celebrates the political, social, cultural and economic achievements of women around the globe. The program started with the arrival of the Chief Guest Mrs. Revathi, Police Inspector Women’s Police Station, Mangalore. City Police and the Guest of Honour Mr Raghuveer Souterpete accompanied by our Principal Dr. Premalatha V. The honorary guest lighted the lamp to invoke the blessings of God and enlightened the young minds to be brave, courageous and face the difficulties of life with a sense of gratitude. She also added that we all need to be dutiful to all the glorious mothers out there. Later she was presented with a memento as a token of gratitude by the principal. 34 Students participated in this programme.
