To commemorate the First World Hindi Conference that was held in 1975, India observes January 18, every year, as World Hindi Day or Vishwa Hindi Diwas to spread the importance of Hindi across the world.
Department of Hindi in association with Hindi Sangha celebrated World Hindi Day with joy and pride on January 18, 2022. Dr. Suma Rodanvar, Coordinator of MA (Hindi) and Associate Professor of the University College of Mangaluru graced the occasion with her presence as the Chief Guest. Dr. Suma addressed the gathering and gave a talk on” Hindi mein Rojgaar” and shared with the students a deep knowledge regarding how all languages have their own importance and how the Hindi language is our National language and consequentially none of the other languages are in any threat. She also added that we, being the ones who learn Hindi give equal respect and importance to all the other languages. There are many opportunities to get a better career in the future by adopting Hindi language. Dr. Premalatha V, Principal of our college encouraged the students to take the initiative in learning Hindi in official language. Dr. Kalpana Prabhu J and Smt. Sujatha Nayak, faculty members of Department of Hindi organized the celebration. Mr. Tanish was the Master of Ceremony for the program. Ms. Deeksha Kini welcomed the gathering. Ms Ashwini Hegde delivered the vote of thanks.
