On having assumed the charge of the Director of Canara Group of Institutions, Mangaluru, Prof. Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, as a part of his official visit, visited the Canara College on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 2:30 PM. He was accompanied to the institution by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Association, Mrs. Ujwal Mallya.
The meeting commenced with the institutional presentation made by the Head of Institution giving an overview of the functioning and practices of the institution. This was followed by the campus tour. Subsequently, the Director had an interaction with the staff members.
The Director Prof. Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the institute. Further, he congratulated the institution for its accomplishment of having secured the ‘A’ Grade in the Fourth Cycle of NAAC A & A held recently. While lauding the committed efforts of the staff towards enhancing the quality, he also emphasized the need for further improvement on certain key areas. The discussions also focused on the need for chartering the growth plans and synergizing the efforts of the institute towards its timely, need-based and effective deployment; thereby, develop quality enhancement strategies. On seeking the suggestions, the members of the staff expressed their views on the areas of concerns for needful considerations.
The Principal Dr. Premalatha V. introduced the Heads of Departments to the Director. The IQAC Coordinators Mrs. Dejamma A. delivered the welcome address and Mr. Hardik P. Chauhan proposed the vote of thanks.
A total of 72 participants including the teaching and non-teaching staff members participated in this programme.
The meeting and interaction with the Director was indeed a morale booster for everyone. It ignited the spirit of teamwork and collaboration amongst the staff to collectively and progressively march towards the journey of excellence; thereby enabling the institute to scale to a greater heights. The programme strived to promote the core value of eliciting quest for excellence amongst all.
