“Ask yourself if what you are doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow.” Keeping this in mind Centre for PG Studies in Commerce organised an Interclass Commerce and Management Fest on June 22, 2022, the theme being ‘Make A Way’ derived from the word ‘Milky Way’.
The programme began with a prayer, followed by handing over of the files to the Fest Event Heads and then the trophy was unveiled. There were four events in total, namely, HR named ‘Antares’ led by Anwika and Ananya of II MCom, Finance named ‘Vega’ led by Deepti and Deekshitha of II MCom, Marketing named ‘Rigel’ led by Vaishanvi and Raksha of II Mcom, and Event Best Manager named ‘Sirius’ led by Mamatha and Manisha of II Mcom. These events were named after the stars in the universe.
The Chief Guest of the inaugural programme, Mr. Sumesh, Professor at SDMCBM and alumni of Canara College highlighted the importance of such fests where the classroom knowledge is put into practice. The events then began at 10:30a.m. Each event had three rounds, except the Best Manager which had four rounds of which the last was stress interview. There were nine teams in total named after the comets in the Milky-way galaxy. 42 students took part enthusiastically, making the programme successful. The valedictory began at 4:00p.m. Prof. Anila, Principal, Canara Evening College was the Chief Guest. She spoke about the ways in which one can develop one’s skill. The winners were announced for each event and the Overall Trophy was bagged by team Rolando. The day ended with the national anthem.
This activity aimed to fulfil the NAAC core values such as fostering global competencies, quest for excellence and inculcating value system among students.
