Project Code Unnati, a key initiative jointly led by the Karnataka Skill Development Corporation, Govt of Karnataka, SAP Labs, and UNDP, had its Start-Up Challenge in Dakshina Kannada on 13th Jun 2022 at A J Institute of Engineering and Technology. The Start-Up Challenge was launched by Shri Prashanth Kumar Mishra IAS, Mescom Managing Director, Mr. Ananthapadmanabha Acharya CEO of Atal Incubation Centre, Dr. Shantharama Rai C Principal AJ Institute of Engineering & Technology, Mr. Govindraj Jeyachandran State Project Head UNDP Karnataka, Mr. Umesh, Enterprise Development Assistant and Mr. Raghuveer District Youth Officer. All the dignitaries shared their experience, motivated the participants, and guided them in their entrepreneurial ventures.
After the inauguration, jury members who are distinguished members of the Government, young entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and academicians had an in-depth evaluation of all the shortlisted idea submissions. 10 students from our college presented their ideas to jury members. Many participants presented their ideas using working prototypes thereby giving jury members a real-time feel on how their products function. Each participant was quizzed by the jury members and was scored by them based on their presentation and responses. Jury members were amazed at the quality of entrepreneurial ventures conceptualized by the students.
All the participants also had an awareness session on how to apply for various governmental schemes and loans and clarified their doubts regarding the financial aspects of their entrepreneurial journey. 10 students participated in this start up challenge programme.
