Mangalore University and Canara College jointly organized a one-day youth workshop on “Swatantra Vyaktithva Roopane ” on August 13, 2022, on account of Azadi Ka Amrith Mahotsav, in order to spread the significance of freedom and to make the youth aware of the skills required for personality development.
The Chief Guest, Dr.V Ravindrachary, in his inaugural address, emphasized the role of freedom fighters, who selflessly and relentlessly fought for our nation, in achieving the most valuable thing for us – Freedom. He, further, expressed that we need to be grateful to the Almighty for having bestowed us with the opportunity to be a part of the 75th Independence Day celebration. He also mentioned, “The real struggles, behind the curtains of freedom, are known only to those who were witness to it”.
CA Jagannath Kamath, Correspondent, Canara College, presided over the inaugural function and spoke about freedom and humanity, and urged the students to “Be partners in nation building”.One such eminent person Prof. B.S Shastri who has seen our country getting ‘Azaadi’ was present on this occasion. Addressing the young enthusiasts present there, he said that the knowledge absorbed in the workshop must be disseminated in the society, thereby contributing to a better world.
Along with Dr. K.S Krishnamurthy, the resource person of the day, the other dignitaries gracing the occasion were Prof. B.S Shastri and Prof. Anila.Speaking at the Valedictory function of the University level Youth Workshop, CA M. Vaman Kamath, Treasurer, CHS Association, in his presidential address, asserted that parents, siblings, peers, and teachers play a very vital role in influencing and moulding a child’s personality.
