All healthcare facilities require a sufficient volume of blood to meet the needs of their patients who are suffering from cancer, bleeding disorders, chronic anemia, and other genetic blood abnormalities; these conditions can be addressed with the aid of blood donations. It is critical to donate blood for those in need around the world since human blood can only be obtained from another human. On August 4, 2022 a blood donation camp was organized by the NSS and YRC units of our college in collaboration with the Lions and Leo Club of Kadri Hills, MJF, Mangaluru. The formal function was inaugurated by Shri Ln Lokesh Shetty, Region Chairperson, region 10 (Lion international Dist 3170). In his inaugural speech he said “Donating blood which is the lifeblood of the human body is another important life-saving task. Man can create anything artificially, but blood cannot be artificially produced. There is no substitute for blood. So, blood donation is a celebration of life donation. Students should understand its importance”. Correspondent of the College Sri CA Jagannath Kamath presided over the function. Guests of Honors for the programme was Dr J N Bhat, Medical officer, Indian Red Cross Blood bank, Shri Praveen Kumar, District Coordinator, Indian Red Cross Society and Shri Ln Praveen Shetty, PRO, Lions International Dist 3170.
Mrs Dejamma A, IQAC Coordinator welcomed the gathering. Formal function ended with the vote of thanks by Ln Sumithra V Shetty, President, Lions & Leo Club, Kadri Hills. Master of ceremony of the programme was Mr Parashurama, NSS volunteer.NSS Programme Officers Mrs Seema Prabhu S & Mrs Vani U S and YRC Programme officers Mrs. Smitha M & Mrs Roopashri K P coordinated this blood donation camp. Students from various class along with faculty donated 104 units of blood and made this blood donation camp a grand success.
