Science Association organized Basic Science Activity- An outreach initiative for 62 children of Balika Ashram, Mangaluru on November 12, 2022 at 2pm.
14 members of the association conducted various activities to introduce basic sciences under the able leadership of Ms. Vikitha V, Student Convenor. Besides the basic science activity, the association members indulged various activities such as collage, drawing, riddles and games for children of ashram. The children enthusiastically participated in all the activities. They members keenly interacted with the children at the ashram and sang songs on nature with them.
In addition to this, they gave each child a stationary kit comprising a book, scale, pencil, eraser, sharpener, pens, colors and a pencil pouch. They also distributed juices, chocolates and biscuits to the children. The team handed over the books, stationary items and sanitary pads collected from the students and faculties of Canara College to the ashram office. The staff convenors Mrs. Pushpanjali S and Mrs. Poornima managed the whole programme pleasantly and effectively.
This programme met all its objectives as it was designed to introduce basic sciences and to promote human values of contribution to society.• The activity strived to achieve the core values such as contribution to national development, fostering global competencies and inculcating value system amongst the members of the association.
