The Webinar on “Investors Awareness Programme” organised by the department of Commerce Canara college ,Mangalore in association with Bombay Stock Exchange was held on July 19,2022 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm through Zoom Platform. The webinar was attended by 55 students .The resource person of the webinarMs RekhaRamanathan,BFSI Trainer,Mobileser-United Training Services India.
The resource person started the session by addressing the students about the importance of money and the relationship between save ,spend and invest.The resource person highlighted the need to have more self-regulated and systematic saving habits to secure one’s financial future. She discussed the concept of Investments and the various awareness of Investments .She gave insights into differences between savings and investments. She also elaborated the impact of inflation and the benefits of investing. In her presentation she has discussed about the various options for achieving the individual’s financial goals.She gave information about the concept of mutual fund and the reasons behind investing in mutual fund. She explained why it is important to invest in mutual fund at an early age to get the maximum returns.She gave some inputs regarding the different modes of investing in mutual fund and the steps to be followed while investing in Mutual Fund.
At the end of the session,she has also mentioned about SEBI Complaints Redress system .She educated the students that they can lodge online complaint for their grievances with SEBI ‘SCORES’and advised the students to make informed decisions and cautioned to invest only with SEBI registered mutual funds.55 students participated in the programme.
