Rangoli design is a beautiful and expressive art. Traditionally Rangoli designs are made during auspicious occasions, also to express views on social issues and as public art. On the eve of the Annual Day Celebration Rangoli competition was organized by the Fine Arts Association on March 30, 2023, at the college premise. Two participants made a team, and 33 teams participated in the competition. The rules were informed to the students. According to the rules, only dot rangoli using colour powder was allowed. Each team decided on its theme for the rangoli making.
The judges of this competition were Mrs. Vandana Kamath, an Entrepreneur and Mrs. Parimala Mahesh an advocate. The criteria for the judgment were design, neatness, colour combination and creativity. Ms. Shwetha Priya and Ms. Anjali III BZC won First place. Mr. C. Suraj Bhat and Mr. Sandeep from III BCA won second place, M. Varsha and Dyafna from II B.Com. C. won Third place in this competition. The interest of all the participants was well appreciated by the judges.
The competition resulted in overall recreation after a hectic and monotonous college routine work. A creative side of students was also seen. Mrs. Jayashree Shetty, Convener of the association, Mrs. Kavitha Ganesh, Mrs. Keethi, Mrs. Laxmi Hegde and Soujanya D. Co-conveners coordinated the activity. This activity strived to achieve the quest for excellence, inculcating a value system and fostering global competency.
