National Youth Day is also known as` Vivekananda Jayanthi` or` Rashtreeya Yuva Diwas`. This is celebrated on January 12 of every year in our country to commemorate the birth anniversary of one of the greatest philosopher and spiritual leaders of India- Swami Vivekananda. In 1984, the Govt. of India declared this day as National Youth Day and since 1985 the event is celebrated in our country every year.
On account of National Youth Day, Hindi Association of our college organized a programme ‘Rashtreeya Yuva Diwas’ on January 13, 2023, in one of the classrooms. On this day, a quiz competition on Swami Vivekananda and also a Pick and Speak activity was conducted. Students took active part in the same. 9 teams consisting of five members each participated in the quiz competition. Students spoke about Vivekananda’s ideologies and philosophies. 53 students from I B.Com A and B benefitted from this activity.
To mark this important day, students under the guidance of Mrs. Sujatha G. Nayak, Convenor of Hindi Sangh, creatively presented the noble and inspiring thoughts of Swami Vivekananda. Ms. Ashwini welcomed all. Ms. Sharada proposed the vote of thanks.
