As part of our college’s commitment to community engagement and social work, the Youth Red Cross unit organized an Outreach programme “Paper Bag Making” on June 21, 2023, June 23, 2023, June 26, 2023, June 27, 2023, and June 28, 2023. The aim was to collaborate with physically challenged children and involve them in preparing paper bags using newspapers and magazines. The revenue generated from selling these paper bags was utilized for various activities at the school.
A total of 42 YRC volunteers actively participated in this heartwarming activity, gaining valuable insights into the challenges faced by children with disabilities and learning how to cater to their unique needs. The volunteers were deeply impressed by the distinct creative abilities exhibited by the children in extracurricular activities.
During the event, the volunteers expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the school and the children they had the privilege to interact with. They expressed a strong desire to continue engaging with the children throughout the year, even in small groups. This activity helped in contributing service to society, through which students could involve in community engagement and the development of the individual. The success of this activity was attributed to the dedicated coordination under the guidance of Youth Red Cross Programme Officers, Mrs. Smitha M. and Mrs. Roopashri K. P.
