With the aim of celebrating India’s sacred soil and great valour, on October 13, 2023, the NSS Units of Canara College organised the ‘Meri Mati, Mera Desh’ Campaign in its College Quadrangle.
“Meri Mati, Mera Desh” Campaign was cited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the 103rd edition of Mann Ki Baat on 30 July, as a unique idea to celebrate the 77th Independence Day. This campaign was envisaged from August 09, 2023 to August 15, 2023 as a culminating event of ‘Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. It was a tribute to the Veers and Veeranganas who have made the supreme sacrifice for the country.
This campaign included a variety of initiatives not only at the national and state levels but also at the village and block levels, namely, Dedication of Shilaphalakam(Memorial), Panch Pran(Pledge), Vasudha Vandan(Tribute to our Homeland), Veeron Ka Vandan(Salute to the Martyrs), Rashtragan and Amrit Kalash Yatra.
Mrs. Seema Prabhu S. and Mrs. M. Keerthana Bhat, the NSS Programme Officers coordinated the campaign. 62 NSS Volunteers of Canara College enthusiastically and with a patriotic fervour participated in the campaign.
