The Department of Commerce and Management hosted an orientation program for incoming first-year students of B.Com and BBA on August 26, 2023. The event commenced with a prayer, followed by the teaching staff introducing themselves to the students. Mrs. Jayashree Shetty, an Assistant Professor in Commerce and Management, extended a warm welcome to the students and provided an insightful introduction to the academic discipline.
Mrs. Sushma R. Shetty and Mrs. Usha Nayak, the resource persons, enlightened the students about various facets of the NEP syllabus, as well as the range of Extra-Curricular and Co-Curricular activities available, including NSS, NCC, Youth Red Cross, Rovers and Rangers, and Cultural activities. The students were also provided with valuable insights into the Credit system, Examination methodologies (including Internal Assessment Examinations and Semester End Examinations), and were informed about the availability of Swayam Courses. Thrupthi N. Vyas, Student Coordinator of the Commerce and Management Association, explained the advantages and offerings associated with the association. ”
The resource persons addressed the students’ questions. Mrs. Dejamma A., the Head of the Department of Commerce and Management, concluded the session with an encouraging message. She emphasized the importance of enhancing skills and competencies to thrive in today’s fast-paced world. This insightful session was attended by all 231 first-year students in Commerce and Management.
