As an endeavor to promote personal and professional excellence among the staffs, a “Workshop on Bloom’s Taxonomy” was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell(IQAC) on February 23,2024 at seminar hall for a day.
The resource person for this workshop was Dr. Flossy C R Dsouza, Assistant Professor St. Ann’s college of education, Mangalore.
In this session, Dr. Flossy Dsouza, defined the positon of the teacher in the classroom. She stated, a Teacher should be as ‘Guide the side’ rather than ‘Sage on the stage’. She emphasized the modern ways of teaching over traditional methods. She defined the Four C’s of 21st century education i.e., creative, critical, communication &collaboration. She explained the Bloom’s Taxonomical hierarchy and conducted practical group session. This exercise helped the staffs to improve their practical knowledge on Bloom’s taxonomy and teaching aids.
Mrs.Anasuya Bhagavath, coordinator of IQAC welcomed the gathering. Mrs.Keerthana Bhat was maser of the ceremony. Mrs.Prathima Baliga delivered vote of thanks. Ms. Deepthi Nayak, Administrator and the Principal, Dr. Premalatha V., were presided in this event.
A total of 44 teaching staff actively participated in this workshop.
The programme was interactive, refreshing, intellectually and emotionally enriching for all. This event enabled the staffs to understand logical application of Bloom’s Taxonomy through practical exercise. The tips shared by the speaker will greatly help one to think creatively, and can help to make new connections and ideas. It would also improve interpersonal relationships, both personally and professionally.
