‘Growth Gala’- A Professional Day for M.Com students organised by Centre for PG Studies in Commerce on April 18, 2024 in the college seminar hall from 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM. The event was organized to celebrate the professional development and creativity among students. The event aimed to showcase students professional attire, confidence, and presentation skills.
Mrs. Anasuya Bhagavath, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce & Management and Mr. Pramod, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Canara College, were called for judging the first round of the event, and were asked to select top 10 among 58 participants for the next round of the event.
The question-answer round in the event provided students with an opportunity to articulate their thoughts clearly and effectively, improving their communication skills. Students were challenged to think on their feet and respond intelligently to questions, fostering critical thinking abilities. The second round was judged by Mr. Hardhik P. Chauhan Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce & Management and Mrs. Ritika Das, Assistant Professor, Department of English. The question-answer round offered a chance for judges to provide constructive feedback to students, helping them improve their presentation and communication skills in a professional setting. The round emphasized the importance of professionalism by evaluating how well students handle themselves in a formal setting.
Out of 10 qualified in the second round, Ms. Ashwini Hegde, M.Com Final has bagged the First Place and Ms. Hruthika, M.Com Previous has secured Second place in the professional Day event – Growth Gala.
All together 58 students were present for the event. The event was organized with the aim of achieving the core value of inculcating value system among students. The event was hosted by Mrs. Shwetha Pai M, Lecturer, Centre for PG Studies in commerce.
