The “Investors Education Programme” was organized by the department of Commerce, Canara college ,Mangalore as a part of World Investor Week in association with HSBC AMC. It was held on October 7, 2024, from 11.00 A M 12 .30 PM at Lecture Hall No. 27. The resource person of the Programme was Ms. Deeksha Rao.
The resource person started the session by addressing the students about the importance of money and the relationship between save, spend and invest. The resource person highlighted the need to have more self-regulated and systematic saving habits to secure one’s financial future. She discussed the concept of Investments. She gave insights into differences between savings and investments. She also elaborated the impact of inflation and the benefits of investing. In her presentation she has highlighted about the various options for achieving individual’s financial goals. She gave information about the concept of mutual fund and the reasons behind investing in mutual fund, explained why it is important to invest in mutual fund at an early age to get the maximum returns. She also gave some inputs regarding the different modes of investing in mutual fund and the steps to be followed while investing in Mutual Fund. The session was Co Ordinated by Anasuya Bhagvath & Lavina S Noronha Faculty, Department of Commerce.The Programme was attended by 65 students.
