Departmental Orientation Programme was organized for first year students of B.Sc. of 2024 – 2025 on August 13, 2024, in the seminar hall of Canara College, Mangaluru. A total of 44 students attended the programme.
In the opening address, Mrs. Asha Kiran Pakkala, Head of Physics Department, provided a comprehensive overview of the BSc Programme and outlined the model structure for the first-year B.Sc. students. She spoke about the specifics of the B.Sc. program, introduced the science faculty members, and explained the semester-end examination pattern and internal mark distribution. She also offered valuable insights into curriculum delivery methods and the Science Association and Nature Club as extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, e-attendance, etc.
Mrs. Dejamma A, in-charge Principal and H.O.D. of Commerce, in her presidential address provided insight to students regarding college discipline, the SEP exam scheme, and college timings.
Mrs. Poornima, Assistant Professor in Mathematics, welcomed the gathering. A vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Madhushree, Head, Department of Botany, and prayer was rendered by Mrs. Sukhalatha, Faculty, Department of Physics, and Mrs. Asha Kiran Pakkala, Head, Department of Physics. Mrs. Pushpanjali, Faculty Department of Zoology, compered the programme.
The faculties from both the B.Sc. programme and the Language Department were present.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
