A Seminar on the topic “Understanding the Framework on Indian Accounting Standards IAS” was organized by the Department of Business Administration for I BBA & III BBA students in Lecture Hall No. 10 on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. The resource person was CA Nagabhushan Pai, Chartered Accountant. Mangaluru. The primary goal of this program was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Indian Accounting Standards.
The program commences with the Introduction of Indian Accounting Standards, covering its history, key principles, and fundamental concepts. He also touched upon various Indian Accounting Standards as per ICAI. In conclusion, he discussed the various job opportunities available in Finance. The program seeks to empower the students with knowledge that transcends theoretical understanding, encouraging them to actively be responsible for maintaining the books of accounts according to the principles of IAS. The program was concluded by a vote of thanks by Mrs. Laxmi Hegde, Assistant Professor, Canara College, Mangaluru. Feedback was collected at the end of the session which was followed by a question-answer session. A total of 39 students participated in this program. Mrs. Laxmi Hegde, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Business Administration coordinated the smooth conduct of this program.
