A group of final year students from the Mathematics department of Canara College organised an interactive mathematics extension activity for students of Ramakrishna and Ramashrama schools on October 29th and November 4th, 2024. The objective of this initiative was to cultivate interest in mathematics, enhance problem solving skills and demonstrate the practical applications of mathematical concepts through engaging activities.
During the activity, the final year students showcased their learning and expertise through a variety of activities including interactive learning sessions and demonstrative experiments. This extension activity aimed not only to share academic knowledge but also to in still a love for learning among school students. Teachers at the school appreciated the efforts and commented on the value such interactions bring in broadening the educational horizon of their pupils.
The final year students found this outreach rewarding as it helped them strengthen their communication and teaching skills, bridging the gap between academic theory and practical application. A total of 23 students of our college actively participated in this activity.
