Computer Science was introduced as an optional subject for B.Sc students during the academic year 1990-91 and for B.Com students Computer application got introduced as a vocational subject in the year 1996-97. Mangalore University introduced BCA course in the year 2001-02 and in the same year we started the course in our college.

The total students belonging to our department during this academic year 2021-22:

There are 10 teaching staff, 5 lab instructors and 1 attender. We have 4 well equipped computer labs, each containing 44 computers. Each student uses computer separately and staff  members give attention to each student’s work in lab. Many students got selected for jobs in various companies in campus interviews. Our main objective is to train our students as computer professionals and expose them to face the challenges in the outside IT world. We lay great stress on the development of character and discipline among students so that they can turn out to be worthy citizens. We are always ready to provide the necessary guidance to students in making their academic life wholesome and interesting. As a result there is an increase in the number of students getting placement during campus interviews.
